Blessed Karolina Kózka

A young girl (1898–1914) from the village of Wal-Ruda near Tarnów, who died during the First WorldnWar protecting her virginity from a Russian soldier. In her short life, she was very active in the local parishnof Zabawa, assisting in the organization of the religious life. She is considered the patron saint of the Tarnów Diocese since her 1987 beatification, conducted by Pope John Paul II. Her sanctuary is located in Zabawa, and she is rememebered on November 18.
